Saryn Chorney stops women on the street of New York to ask the very important question: what's your favorite lip balm?
![]() Image via Clinique Hi! I am a huge fan of your website and I love all the great information you put out. This product may be a little old, but all my friends are raving about Clinique 3-Step! I know that it has a cleanser, toner and moisturizer, but I would LOVE and appreciate it if you guys did a post on the 3-Step, how effective it is, does it work? Thanks, -A Hi there, it just so happens we have written about this line. But wait, there's more!
![]() Image via thisgirlangie on Flickr Dearest Erin and Wendy, I am confused about layering of skincare products. So you've got all this stuff, right? Eye cream, moisturizer, sunscreen, maybe even a serum. What order does it go on in? How long do you need to wait between applying potions? I've been trying to consolidate the moisturizer and sunscreen into one step, but I can't find a SPF30 that is a rich enough moisturizer, so I think I'm stuck with at least three steps in the morning. I crave certainty, order and a writ-in-stone morning routine. Please help. Best best best as ever, S I'm a big fan of keeping it simple, too! My easy breezy answer after the jump...

![]() Meet Allure's Daily Beauty Reporter, Jessica Matlin. This Jersey girl has been a beauty buff since her tween years frequenting the local mall's Versace makeup counter. A former assistant makeup artist herself, J-Mat (what the Allure editors upstairs lovingly call her) knows that the art of a stunning look starts with a healthy, clean canvas. She proves her skin know-how this month in her Allure piece "Skin Magicians," where she gives the scoop on how models get their (oft-naked) bods flawless for skincare ads. So without further ado, "The Beauty Expert"'s expert gives us a PF-personalized report of the latest and greatest in skincare. If we were to open your medicine cabinet, what would we find?
Right after I awake and just before I go to bed are sensitive times--I can't deal with a bunch of bubbles going up my nose or some medicated gel cleanser stinging my eyes. I'm a feeble thing, so Eau Thermale Avene Gentle Milk Cleanser is critical to a good morning and a good night. This milky cleanser feels like lotion on the skin, and because it doesn't lather, smell, or sting, you don't have to squint your eyes too tightly, prevent the foam from getting into your hairline, or rinse a thousand times to get the cleanser off. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Eye Crème also impresses me every single day. Every few hours, my under-eye area gets so dehydrated that I can actually feel it, and when I pat this stuff on, I can almost hear my skin cells guzzling in the moisture. Plus, it's non-greasy, so you can layer concealer on top of it without any trouble.
![]() Up for hours of fun? Yeah, I thought you might be. If so, go screw around on The St. Andrews Face Transformer for a spell. Part of a publicly funded project aimed at exploring "the latest advances in facial computer vision and graphics, and what they mean for society," and associated with the computer science program at the UK's University of St. Andrews, it makes facial reconstruction, well, accessible to the rest of us.
![]() Image via Vicky vs on Flickr Dear Erin, Summer's here and I have a problem. When I leave work in the morning, my face is protected with tinted SPF and I look perfectly presentable. By the time I get to work, though, I'm a big grease ball. I don't want to just swab toner all over, thus undoing the tinted moisturizer with SPF, but I also think dabbing with powder sounds kind of gnarly. How can I get myself looking fresh again? Help! Shiny in the Summer Oh girl, I sooo have the same problem. The solution, after the jump!
