One of the great things about being a beauty blogger is that everyone confesses to you their secret guilty Product Fiend pleasures without fear of being judged. I find out the best scoops that way, and also, start to notice unexpected trends. For instance, in the last two months, not one, not two, but THREE different guys have whispered their absolute adoration of Dove's new Cream Oil body wash. I don't blame them, because it's been sitting in my shower since the second it hit the shelves at Rite Aid. One of these fellows is actually my husband, a devout anti-metrosexual who only chanced the girly product when he had hit bottom on his own Manwash, and found that he loved being free of his normal dry and itchy skin. Come over to the pink side, gentlemen, the water's fine!

I have to agree with my XY counterparts and also, Allure's Jessica Matlin. Dove just might have achieved a Drugstore Cowgirl coup with this latest offering. For $4.00 a pop, the Cream Oil reaches a thick and luxurious consistency that is normally only seen in the heady $50 or more price point. I tend to put too much product on my pouf, since it doesn't seem as though it could possibly lather, but the product, made with 30 percent soy oil, suds up to a nice thick foam that does the job and feels almost like you're applying lotion rather than a soap.

My only qualm is that when I personally used it for three weeks straight I started to get a little itchy, but as you know, my skin is a super-sensitive princess, and now I'm using it every other shower with zero side-effects other than amazingly soft, touchable skin. Definitely rush out and snag some of this stuff, but be warned: you may want to just get two bottles right now and save yourself the trouble of trying to pry your bottle away from your man's sudsy hands.
