Up for hours of fun? Yeah, I thought you might be. If so, go screw around on The St. Andrews Face Transformer for a spell. Part of a publicly funded project aimed at exploring "the latest advances in facial computer vision and graphics, and what they mean for society," and associated with the computer science program at the UK's University of St. Andrews, it makes facial reconstruction, well, accessible to the rest of us.

If you have dreams of getting to sneak a peek of what you would look like with, say, a nose job or blonde hair, well, the program isn't quite there yet, or at least it's not free on the Internet. (And we're cheap, dammit!) But it is good fun if you've ever wondered what you'd look like as, say, an Afro-Caribbean or East Asian, a teenager, or--get this--more off-the-beaten-human-track looks such as Manga character and Botticelli babe. All you do is load a picture of yourself, drag a box around it, and, oh, let the sweet, sweet fun begin. Plus, you can save renditions (I adore the one of my boyfriend as a baby. With a moustache). Just don't forget: as fascinating as it is to see yourself and your friends as old folks and all, time travel can be depressing or enlightening, depending on your values. A slippery slope indeed.

Oh, um, please don't forget to contemplate the impact of aesthetic value on society and shit, while you're at it.
