![]() Image via Organic Pharmacy Did Eve Lom start the fancy face cleansing balm trend? We here at PF HQ think so. We've been a fan of hers since the late '90s, when we spent many an afternoon hiking up to Barneys to get our hands on her famous, herbal cleansing goo complete with muslin washcloth. (True story: I once got an exclusive facial from Eve herself, and she did this crazy massage thing where she um, not only righted my crow's feet, she also gave the girls a feel...it was weird, but hey, she's European!). Anyhoo, lately it's not all about Eve. We're cheating on her. Here's why: 1. Organic Pharmacy Carrot Butter Cleanser This is one fucking delish, fancy-ass cult product that hails from the U.K. What's not to love about this orange, vegetable wonderland? It basically smells like the best spa on earth, and even though you might be tempted to eat it, please don't. Plus, it leaves your face looking like you just buffed it with chamois. Don't let the grease fool you. It wipes off like a dream. 2. Omorovicza Thermal Cleansing Balm Um, four words: Black mud from Budapest. Exotic, right? Apparently, it's all the rage with ladies who shop at Neiman Marcus (think Dallas, big hair and bigger oil money), and a favorite with our sistahs upstairs at Allure. This black balm makes us feel like we're healing our pores in Hungarian thermal waters--not washing our face in Brooklyn. (Ah, the sad truth comes out...) 3. Rodial A-List Cleanser This little puppy is not only one mean cleaner, it emulsifies to perfection, leaves our skin feeling perfectly moist. And it makes us think we're fancy, even when we're standing over the sink wearing a ripped Spongebob T-shirt. Note to Rodial: We wish the dispenser worked better though. (Don't you have, like, major Product Development dudes for that?) Still, the fact that it only spits out a bit of cleanser at a time just makes us want to slather on more. We have this problem with Rodial self tanners too. For 77 bucks, the packaging better work. But damn, kudos to the product, which is quite simply, excellent, dig? |
