I just love this new campaign that Aveeno is kicking off in Union Square, New York City tomorrow afternoon! Here's what they're up to, and why:
Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in the United States, with more than 1 million cases diagnosed annually across the country. Skin cancer is also the most preventable and curable form of cancer if it is detected early. This kick-off is the first stop of the tour, which will visit more than 50 cities at 100 different locations across the country to educate people about the importance of an annual skin check with their doctor, and get the message out that it is crucial for everyone, no matter their skin color, to practice sun safety. More than 10,000 people are expected to be screened during the entire tour.Sure, part of any good marketing campaign involves selling more products, but you have to give them credit for putting the emphasis on education, and for a great cause. Interested? Check out the Road to Healthy Skin Tour schedule. Hey, it ain't Lollapalooza but at least there will be far less drunk teenagers there! 1 CommentsLeave a comment |

You know...I've never actually had my skin checked since I was a tween (a little overzealous about every one of my moles...every spot was cancer until proven otherwise in my eyes). I work in midtown, but might make it a point to head down to Union Square tomorrow. Thanks for this, E!
