![]() Image via Olay I'm so jaded, y'all, that anything new and fancy and sparkly just makes me roll my eyes and sigh, which is exactly what I did when I got the Olay Body Quench Mousse in my hot little hands. Seriously, sometimes Olay tries a little too hard, you know? Plus, the fact that they're buying into the green tea thing doesn't make me trust that the mousse isn't a gimmick. But I gave it a whirl. I have a problem with the stuff you put in your hair (or your mouth), where I tend to go a little apeshit, so naturally, I didn't heed the warning on the label that states "a little goes a long way". Hells to the yes it does. I blooped out several dots on my forearm and had more than enough to cover, well, my entire body. Did I mention I have a problem following directions? The mousse spreads out to a generous thin coverage that absorbed into dry skin in about sixty seconds and actually melts immediately into steamy straight-from-the-shower skin. Wow! It take much longer for regular lotion to absorb. Also, I usually forsake body moisturizing for the summer months, since my usual body butter is way too greasy on top of my Brand Wendy sweat, but Olay Quench is so light and has a somewhat addictive clean scent (think fresh watermelon mixed with clean baby and maybe just a hint of Downy Mountain Fresh fabric softener) that it has become a headliner in my morning routine. While there's zero greasiness, there IS a bit of a stickiness left for about five minutes after you slather it on, but once that goes, you're totally touchable. Olay says that the "active hydration" lasts for 24 hours, and meh, that's a little optimistic, but it will definitely get you through your day. I wish they'd scent their other products with this fragrance, though, or at least offer a body spray, because it's SO much better than the stuff they hawk at Bath and Body Works and it's a mere six bucks at your local drugstore. I'm trying to get over myself. |
