The term "congested" usually has something to do with, say, a cold, or even traffic. But sadly, sometimes it's mentioned in association with your poor little face. Some of you may have heard my sad tale of the alleged airborne skin disease; case in point, when I arrived home this weekend, my boyfriend took one look at my spotted face and asked me if I had a rash.

I took a reader's advice and bathed in Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, which helped, but I needed something to re-boot my entire face. Desperate times, after all, do call for desperate beauty product measures. Luckily, my colleagues here at Product Fiend anticipated my needs, and like psychic skin care crusaders, Fed-Exed me a tube of Sundari's Neem and Green Tea Cleansing Mask. According to the Amazon listing, here's why this stuff works:

  • This clarifying mask purifies congested skin
  • Deep cleans oily, acne-prone skin
  • Antiseptic and balances sebum production
  • Destroys harmful bacteria in oily areas while soothing dry areas.
  • Dermatologist and Allergy tested
  • This clarifying mask purifies congested skin. Neem Extract, a powerful healer, provides deep cleansing while normalizing skin tone. Green Tea, a potent anti-oxidant, detoxifies and protects, restoring health and clarity.
According to me, this works because I said so! Also, after years of being a Product Fiend, I no longer believe in overnight miracles. I do however, believe in the power of this product to help reverse the vicious cycle that is skin congestion, and help you recognize that awful word in accordance with freeways and the flu, where it belongs, and not on your face.

Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I got so carried away ranting about this product that I forgot to dish all the details. It's hard to describe the scent because it's quite unusual, but I guess I can say it's very light, subtle and fresh-smelling (as in fresh on the botanical side of the road). I mean, does neem smell like anything? Green tea? Almost sandalwood-esque, but like I said, really light.

Due to the emergency nature of my freaking-out from multiple time zones skin, I used this mask twice last week, and I really do think it worked wonders. I would def recommend keeping it in your medicine cabinet for whenever you feel like you're breaking out too much...
