It has been so long since my legs have been exposed to light that they now glow in the dark from their winter white pallor. I wouldn't be caught dead in a cancer-o-rama (a.k.a. tanning bed), which means like Obi-Wan Kenobi, self-tanners are my only hope.

Erin had such brave face despite having to walk around with noticeable self-tanning streakage so I was super nervous to test anything on my freshly-waxed and exfoliated calves. Just like Erin, I've been in love with Jergens Natural Glow because it's such a gradual layering of passable color that I just simply don't screw anything up. However, with the onset of capri season upon me, I grabbed the Natural Glow Express by accident. This stuff speeds up the process, giving you the color you crave in a mere three days rather than a whole week.

Sadly, the ishy smell? Still totally present. In fact, maybe a little stronger with the mid-grade stuff. Although the best smelling self tanner in the biz, Dove Energy Glow, has multiple reports of giving girls a yellowish tinge, so I'd rather deal with the nasty smell and avoid looking like I have jaundice.

I was a little nervous when I could already see a difference just a few hours after applying the Medium tone. Is it weird that I take comfort in not really being able to tell that the self-tanner is working? Probably weird. However, three days later, and I'm right where I would have been at the seven-day mark with the original Natural Glow and no streaks to be seen. Go Jergens! I can't imagine why anyone would hit Mystic Tan when they could have a much better glow after a weekend for just $6 at any drugstore.

HOLY MOTHER!!! Totally. I'm with ya. I would rather see so gradual you can't even tell it's done a damn thing instead of garish orange marks that look like a skin disease.

Sounds rad Wendy! (It's so warm out, I just had to suck it up & rock the streakage. Whatev's.) This post gives me hope though.

I absolutely love that stuff. I just used it.
Friday they said it was gonna be 90 degrees in LA over the weekend so i slathered some on that evening. Saturday I shaved and reapplied (no burning i might add) and I had an awesome glow. So Sunday and Monday I'm a lovely tan color.
If i apply 3 days in a row it's not natural cuz i'm albino looking so i only apply 2 days in a row but it lasts quite some time.
