ERIN'S STASH
04.15.2008
BY ERIN
![]() Image via Arcona Every once in awhile, I dig around in my home beauty closet (and oh yes, just like Kimora Lee Simmons, I do have one), and come across a delicious-looking product that for some reason or another, I haven't gotten around to trying yet. And shiver me timbers, I was in for a treat when I came across this bad boy. It's that lovely time of year when your skin gets all confused, and you've got oily patches here, dry spots there, and the best thing you can do is wipe the whole slate clean and start fresh. Hollywood fave Arcona makes Kiwi Clarifying Peel, a slightly green-hued exfoliating product that looks unassuming enough, but just wait! I swear, I didn't think it was possible to fit so much into one two-ounce jar. And baby, they're fitting it aaalllll in. Why, here's the (very) small print from the label: Renewal peel synergistically speeds cell turnover and collagen production for an immediate, measurable increase in clarity and smoothness, dramatically reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles caused by age and sun damage, and increasing skin's elasticity and firmness. Kojic acid and arbutin brighten skin and lighten uneven pigmentation. Azelaic and L-ascorbic acids significantly diminish pores. Antioxidant ferulic acidkiwi enzymes and vitamin B-complex hydrate and nourish normal, dry or mature skin.Wow, right? It goes on like gel, and smells slightly like kiwi. (Even though I don't love fruity-smelling things, it's actually quite pleasant.) It tingled enough for me to go ahead and take it off after about five minutes as opposed to the recommended 10-15, but after I rinsed it off, I took a look in one of those scary-ass magnifying mirrors, and no dry flakes! Tighter pores! Less redness! I'll be honest here, my skin looked fucking amazing. |
