You might not even notice it's happening, but if you live with a man, he'll definitely alert you at some point. We are talking about a shitload of random skincare salves that you just had to buy, use once, and store under your bathroom sink. Sound familiar? Here's what you must do, now.

You clean your bathroom on a regular basis (I mean, hopefully, right?), so next time you're in there, make a date to rid yourself of all those excess beauty products. I mean, are you getting paid to provide them with storage space? Um, no. You'll need two boxes: one for recycling near-empties that you are so over, and another for almost good-as-new products that just didn't work out for some reason or another. These products will be happily received by most thrift stores and women's shelters.

"Used products? Isn't that gross?" Well, use your best judgment: rule of thumb is anything eye-related is not something you want to share, and any product you've stuck your fingers in is probably bacteria-laden (in fact, now that you're on this cleaning spree, make a note to not contaminate your own skincare products anymore), so you'll have to chuck it. But remember, if you can possibly avoid it, don't throw beauty stuff, or anything with chemicals in it, in the trash. Recycle them instead! If you come across a container that isn't recyclable, make a note to never buy it again, yeah?

But that body wash you used one squirt of and hated the smell? One gal's "yuck" is another's "yum." An exfoliant you squeezed one use out of and it burned like hell? Someone with less sensitive skin may relish its worthy skin cell scrubbing properties. You get the idea.

I guess now is the idea to confess that I am the biggest hypocrite ever, because this chore is precisely what I've been putting off all week. I'll do mine if you do yours, 'kay?
