![]() Image via Boots It's the time of year when even die hard, "throw caution to the wind and have another martini" New Yorkers decide that a vacation from the excess of end of last year's festivities is in order, and the detox race is in full-swing. And let's face it: as much as fasting and/or taking extra supplements and/or eating nothing but salmon is supposed to make you feel good, the real motivating factor for everyone is looking even better. One gal I know is busy starving to death on the awfully popular and controversial Master Cleanse, while another guy has been drinking nothing but goat's milk (UM, YUM!?) for the last week. I'm choosing to go the easy route and taking the Boots Detox 5 Day Plan, which seemingly requires nothing more than knocking back a vial filled with strawberry-flavored vitamins designed to target my detoxifying organs, a.k.a. the liver, with grapevine leaf, marine pine bark, green tea and ginger. The point is to not only flush out all the yucky toxins I've been very busy accumulating like mad, but evidently my skin will look fabulous! I'm on Day One, but will keep you updated with the results. Observation number one: the blend, when mixed with water anyway, tastes like a kind of yucky Jolly Rancher, but if it does what it says it does, that's a small price to pay, right? |
