I mean, has anyone ever been so desperado that they actually tried this?
Okay, sure ya did. The old toothpaste on a zit trick works like a charm because it's so drying, just like mud masks are great for those of us with oily skin. Heed this warning though: whitening toothpastes apparently do not get the job done, because they contain too much hydrogen peroxide, according to this article, which handily gives some other educational advice regarding various home remedies outside the beauty scope (can you imagine there's a world out there?!). But now that we're all gathered here in the trust circle, I want to know, what's your poison...I mean, brand?

The best I have ever tried is Dry Lo Essentials by Seriesse International.
I am in my early 40's and have dry skin but still get an occasional bump or zit!
Active ingredient is 10% Sulfur - put it on at night and mine are gone by morning! Looks like Caladryl so I would not try it during the day!
OK - I sell it so I might be biased - but try it and you won't be sorry! www.myseriesse.com/jhornsby
