Am I the last person in world who hasn't seen Gossip Girl? From what I hear, the kids just love it. It sounds to me like 90210 set in the Upper East Side of New York, which makes for entertaining junk food I'm sure. But my days hanging out at the Peach Pit are way behind me, and anyway, I'd rather discuss presidential candidates at the water cooler. (In fact, good idea for a new reality show! That Barack is so photogenic!)

Still, I'm not immune to trying out some product that apparently is tacked all over the Gossip Girl set, and is, of course, already a big hit in L.A. The developer of Perfekt Skin, Richard Anderson, insists his new-ish Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel is not foundation, and not really a primer. It defies explanation people. Got it? Holy moly. Ooookay then Mr. Anderson, let's look at the ingredients: there are alpha lipoic acids to fight aging, ubiquitous vitamins A and E, and a distinct foundation-esque tint (it comes in five sheer shades). Right. Nothing too surprising here. Now on to the results.

This stuff goes on like buttah. It's silky smooth and melts right in. If you want to fake absolutely perfectly airbrushed, flawless, people-are-seeing-you-through-a-lens-coated-in-Vaseline Hollywood level of perfection, this stuff actually works. No joke. As in, if you spend 20 minutes or more each morning applying all manner of salves and primer and then concealer and foundation, you could save yourself the hassle, wash your face, and just put this on and look like a million bucks. Or, a Gossip Girl, depending on who you ask. So there ya go.
