Ah, Paris fashion week in full swing. It always reminds me of the ultimate classic French skin care secret, Embryolisse-Lait Crème Concentre, a.k.a. the "24-hour Miracle Cream." I started seeing Embryolisse pop up on fashion photo shoots a few years ago. When you ask makeup artists where they get it, they kind of look at you funny and go, "Oh you know, France." Vague much? When I told a personal friend and makeup artist Kristi Matamoros (Mark Carasquillo's protégé), I was on my way to Paris for fashion week, she begged me to pick up a couple jugs of the stuff while I was there. Turns out, they sell it at every pharmacy in France (and St. Bart's, natch). I dutifully gathered them up for her, but before I delivered, simply had to dip into the stash myself to see what all the fuss was about.

It's really very simple: straight up, milky, light texture that melts into your skin like buttah, and a slight, subtle scent, so it's ideal for sensitive skin types. Sometimes perfect simplicity is hard to come by. Luckily, you don't have to schlep overseas to get it. I found this fab pharmacy in New York that carries it. Order it here, and if you do, let me know if you think it lives up to the hype.
