![]() Back when I was a fledgling Beauty Editor at Allure, my job as assistant to the Beauty Director was to organize all the products that would be tested for the prestigious Best of Beauty Awards, and let me tell you, it was no easy task. There is not one, but two beauty closets used to keep tabs on hundreds of products that are vigorously tested by all members of the staff and their lucky friends and families. Knowing how serious the process is, I'm always curious to sit down with the Best of Beauty issue and see what skin products I want to stamp with a double endorsement. In the category of cleansers for sensitive skin, they chose Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash, and I couldn't agree more. Not only is it ridiculously affordable and easy to find, but it works great for all skin types and derms love it, too. For night creams, Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrate got a shout out, even though it's more of a serum-type consistency. Whatever it is, putting it on your skin makes it look like you've never had a drink/smoke/sun tanning marathon in your life. Kinerase Cream and Kinerase Cream SPF 30 also got mentioned for sensitive skin types, and I admit, I've been a fan since even before Courtney Cox was hawking the line. The fabulous (albeit too strong for very sensitive skin types) Obagi Professional-C Vitamin C Serum 15% made the grade, as did another personal favorite for repairing the effects of oily, sweaty days, Fresh Umbrian Clay Face Treatment Purifying Mask. If only the Oscars were this exciting. What products win your Best of Beauty award? |
